Principal's Update:
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Over the past several weeks, two words have been at the center of my reflection, prayer, and leadership: love and impact. They have guided me in moments of calm and moments of challenge, and they clearly define my vision as I return to serve as principal of St. Paul High School.
As our faculty and staff returned from break, I shared these words with them as our collective focus. Love will be our leadership strategy. This means holding high expectations while providing high levels of support. It means accountability rooted in care, consistency grounded in hope, and a commitment to being fully present to our students and to one another.
There is so much to be proud of at St. Paul High School. The Flyer Family is strong, vibrant, and deeply rooted in faith and excellence. Our words, attitudes, and actions must continue to reflect who we are and what we believe. When we hold ourselves to our shared standards, we do more than prepare students academically—we help lead them toward a deeper relationship with God, which is at the heart of our mission.
Every member of our school community—students, faculty, staff, and families—has the opportunity and responsibility to lead through influence. Our goal is for that influence to be guided by faith and expressed through love. When we choose to see Christ in one another, our actions naturally follow with compassion, integrity, and purpose.
One of the most meaningful moments for me recently was standing quietly at the back of the church after our high school Mass, walking down the center aisle surrounded by the energy, joy, and applause of our students and faculty. In that moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace and belonging. I knew I was home. The warmth, encouragement, and kindness shown through words, emails, and messages have meant more to me than I can express—thank you.
As we move forward together, I invite you to partner with us in this mission. Support your students, engage with our school community, and join us in leading with love so that we may continue to make a lasting, positive impact on every young person entrusted to our care.
It is truly a blessing to be part of the St. Paul Flyer Family. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve once again and look forward to the important work we will do together on behalf of our students.
Gratefully,
Mike Gocsik
