Principal's Update:
Dear Parents/Guardians,
One message I often share with our students comes from Admiral William McRaven’s Make Your Bed. Its lesson is simple yet powerful: meaningful change begins with small, intentional actions done well. In a world that tells our children they must be extraordinary to matter, this message reminds us that faithfulness in daily routines builds character, confidence, and purpose.
I frequently remind our students that “you don’t have to go on a mission to be on a mission.” Living our faith and changing the world begins right where we are—with the people God places in our lives each day. A kind word, a smile, a willingness to notice others—these simple acts reflect Christ more clearly than any grand gesture.
That same spirit is why our weekly Wednesday Mass is intentionally called Game Day. Just as our students bring energy, focus, and excitement to athletic events, we want them to bring that same sense of purpose to celebrating the Eucharist. Mass is not a pause in the week—it is the foundation of it. It grounds us, prepares us, and sends us forward to live our mission.
When our students begin their day—and their week—with intention, faith and presence, extraordinary things happen. Changing the world starts smaller than we think. It starts with faithfulness, a joyful heart, and a made bed.
It’s been a great week on campus. Even though our celebration of Catholic Schools Week was limited due to the weather, I found the activities we were able to enjoy were impactful, inspiring, and fun. Congratulations to our Mock Trial team that competed last Friday and advanced to regionals. Also over this past weekend, our competition Cheer Team punched their ticket to the state finals.
I am proud of the focus and engagement taking place in our classrooms. Our students continue to embrace our high expectations and our faculty and staff continue to guide and correct with love. I’m hopeful for another strong end to the school week and don’t be afraid to ask your student to make their bed!
Gratefully,
Mike Gocsik
