Principal Update:
It’s hard to believe that we have reached the end of the 3rd quarter this school year. We are entering into the home stretch, but our fourth quarter is filled with many activities and experiences throughout the coming weeks and months. The final sprint towards graduation for our Class of 2025 and their families is also very much real.
Last week’s Friday Flyer had the announcement of our new principal. I am very excited to meet and welcome Mr. Nathan Gwinn and his family to our Flyer Family. I was confident in the thorough process, but I most especially trusted and believed in the people involved in the process. Great things continue to happen within our school community and the future is very bright for our school!
Speaking of great things, congratulations to the cast and crew of our musical, “Big Fish!” Words cannot convey how proud I am of all involved in the production. We are blessed with many talented students under the guidance of passionate and caring adults. I truly feel that those who were able to witness this year’s production experienced something very, very special.
Our seniors return today from their Kairos retreat. I had the honor of speaking to them last night. I greatly valued my time with them. I have much in common with them as we will be experiencing much transition over the next few months and sharing many “lasts” as we all move on from St. Paul High School. I will always cherish these moments with our students and I am continually reminded I’ve had the best seat in the house watching our students develop and grow emotionally, intellectually, physically and spiritually.
Next week our 8th graders will leave on their annual trip to Washington, D.C. Please pray for them on their journey. Mr. Fair does an incredible job with our students on this trip and I appreciate how enthusiastically he shares his passion for history and our country with our students.
Congratulations to all of our students being confirmed this weekend. Congratulations and know of our prayers for each of you. Our Spring Break will be March 24-28th and I am hopeful it will be a fruitful time of relaxation and recreation for our faculty and students. I’m looking forward to the positive momentum we have created throughout the school year carrying us through to a great fourth quarter! Have a wonderful weekend.
Gratefully,
Mike Gocsik Principal
St. Paul High School
