Happy New Year! Our second semester is off to a great start. Getting back into routine after a long break always poses a challenge, but I am proud of the energy and effort put forth by both our faculty and students this week.  With our exams behind us, it is nice to start the New Year focused on moving forward rather than reviewing information from before break.

 

After Mass on Wednesday I briefly spoke to the students about embracing the new year moment by moment.  Especially, not to take for granted the time we get to spend together in prayer at Mass.  We concluded our time together in prayer for the new year, the challenges ahead, and for any personal intentions we have going into this fresh semester.  It is a great gift and blessing to have the opportunity to pray with and for one another.  These simple acts can have a profound impact on the lives of our students and our community.  Know of my continued prayers for our school community as we journey forward through the second half of our school year.  

 

Keeping ourselves healthy during this time of year is a challenge and hopefully we can use the weekend to get plenty of rest. Grade cards will be sent home with students today.  Looking ahead to next week, we are scheduled for our first full week of school, but you never know what the weather will bring this time of the year.  Our winter sports seasons continue and rehearsals for the Spring Musical are starting.  There is plenty of activity on and around campus.  Happy second semester and Go Flyers!
