Principal Update:
I am happy to report that Mr. Linder and Mrs. Fitzgerald arrived safely in Belize this past Wednesday. They have met with the leaders and students of St. Oscar Romero Catholic School in the Valley of Hope. I’m looking forward to them sharing more of their mission trip with our school community in the very near future. We are planning a video conference with students from both schools before our missionaries depart for home next week.
Speaking of next week, Monday we will start on a planned two (2) hour delay. We will also be hosting our Parent/Teacher Conferences on Monday evening. Our conferences are one of the best ways to learn more about your child’s classroom activities, and to get to know their teachers better. I encourage parents to take advantage of this opportunity and get to know the partners in their child’s education on a personal level.
Today, we sent off our competition cheer team to their state competition at Big Walnut High School just outside of Columbus tomorrow. It was a rare opportunity for our students to cheer and encourage their peers that cheer for them in their activities. Our cheer team has worked hard since the summer under the leadership of Mrs. Weisenberger. They represent our school very well and we wish them all the best in Columbus on Saturday.
Tonight our boys varsity basketball team plays at home at 7:00pm against St. Peter’s, Mansfield in the sectional tournament. It is a great opportunity to showcase our Flyer Spirit. Students are encouraged to wear their new, red spirit shirts to the game. Tickets are on sale for our production of “Big Fish”. Our students have been working very hard on this year’s production. The curtain will go up in two weeks and I am excited to see all their hard work on display. Have a wonderful weekend and Go Flyers!
