Principal Update:
We are officially in the second to last month of the school year. It will be very busy over the next several weeks. There’s much to look forward to and enjoy in and around campus over the coming days and weeks.
Our second Culture Trip took place over Spring Break. Kudos to Mr. MacMurray for leading our contingent of Flyers to Costa Rica. Providing students with the opportunity to experience the broader world is at the heart of our school’s mission to inspire our students to serve and lead in the global community. I am proud of the many educational experiences our Culture Trips have provided our students, but most importantly the lifelong memories and friendships that these opportunities provide. Thank you to all chaperones and adult travelers for making this a great trip!
This week we recognized our Leadership By Example Award winners. Each of these students represent well what it means to be a Flyer in their own unique way. Please join me in congratulating the following students: Eli Schwan, Raeleigh Friend, Jacob Penwell, Ella Kalizewski, Isabelle Rizzo, and Nolan McCall. Thank you for being role models among your peers.
Additionally, I would like to recognize junior Bella Guerra, sophomores Aubrie Bogard and Jacob Bleile, freshman Alia Bogard, and 7th grader Gabe Bleile. These students have led the children’s Liturgy of the Word every Sunday at St. Mary’s parish. The parish and I are grateful for their presence, knowledge, and compassion. Keep up the great work!
On Thursday our 8th grade class had their retreat. Our sophomore class will be participating in their class retreat next Tuesday, April 8. Thank you to Mr. Stoll and Mrs. Fitzgerald for the time and effort to plan these meaningful experiences for our students. Also on April 11 we will have our Lenten Penance Service for all junior high and high school students.
Next week, our new principal, Mr. Nathan Gwinn will be on campus to meet our faculty and students. I look forward to meeting him, and welcoming him to our Flyer Family. Have a safe and wonderful weekend. Go Flyers!
