Principal Update:
February is coming to an end, and hopefully, March will bring spring along with it! I know the kiddos are ready for some warm weather and more outdoor recess. Next week is Right to Read Week. We will start each day with 10 minutes of "drop what you're doing and read" time. Students are encouraged to bring a book to class each day, whether it's from home or checked out from the library.
On Monday, we’re all "Reading Rock Stars"! Students can dress in school-appropriate rock and roll outfits to kick off the week. On Tuesday, we’re "Wild About Reading," and students can wear jeans and animal print to show their love for books. Wednesday is "Reading Makes Us Bright," and students can wear sunglasses with their regular uniforms. It’s also Ash Wednesday, marking the start of Lent. We will have an All School Mass, so students will need to leave their sunglasses in the classroom during that time. On Thursday, it’s "Bedtime Stories," and students can wear school-appropriate pajamas, but they should still be able to go to recess and use the restroom independently. Finally, on Friday, we will celebrate that "Flyers Love Reading" with a jeans day and a Flyer shirt.
