President Update:
Dear Norwalk Catholic Families and Faculty,
As we navigate Ohio’s winter weather, the safety of our students, staff, and families remains our top priority. At Norwalk Catholic, we recognize there is no adequate replacement for in-person instruction. We value every day of learning and are committed to providing a safe and productive environment for our school community.
As an Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Charted Non-public School, our “calamity days”—are not determined by a fixed number of days, but rather by the total number of instructional hours provided over the course of the school year. As such, we purposefully maximize instructional time throughout the school year to adequately prepare for unforeseen school closures. These built-in instructional hours help us preserve valuable in-person instructional time and minimize the need to utilize other methods such as on-line/remote learning or adding days to the school calendar.
From time to time when school is closed, certain courses and grade levels may send projects or tasks home to maintain the pace and rigor of student learning. If there is a need to make changes to our instructional planning to further maximize instruction, our priority is to make these changes within the hours of the regularly scheduled school day.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we work together to provide a safe, faith-filled, and academically excellent education for our students. We appreciate your partnership and flexibility throughout the school year.
Sincerely,
Martin Linder '99
President
Norwalk Catholic / St. Paul High School
Principal Update:
Happy Catholic Schools Week!
I know we haven't been together at school yet this week to celebrate, but it is still a good reminder for us to reflect on the joys of being a part of the Norwalk Catholic Community. Norwalk Catholic is defined first by our faith and, second, by our students, families, and staff, past, present, and future. Once a Flyer, always a Flyer!
I look forward to celebrating together in person soon with the All School Mass on Thursday and our pep rally on Friday because Norwalk Catholic is One in a Minion! But for today, I hope everyone stays warm!
Mr. Linder on 95.3 WLKR:
Be sure to tune in to 95.3 WLKR tomorrow (Thursday) at about 9:15 a.m. as Mr. Linder joins the show to talk about Norwalk Catholic / St. Paul High School and all the wonderful things happening in our school community.
Spaghetti Supper: Our annual Spaghetti Supper is still on for tomorrow, Thursday, January 29th. Students in each grade were asked to bring in an item to help defray the cost of the event.
* Grades 1-3: 1- 6 Pack of Applesauce
* Grades 4-6: 1 lb. Thin Spaghetti
We are still accepting donations to help make the Spaghetti Supper a success. Please have your student(s) drop off their designated item(s) at the EC on Wednesday or Thursday. Thank you for your flexibility and generosity during this challenging week. We look forward to seeing you at the Spaghetti Supper tomorrow evening from 5-7pm.
Princess Ball:
The Princess Ball scheduled for this Saturday, January 31st, has been postponed. A new date will be shared soon. Thank you for your understanding.
