This week, our 1st graders have been celebrating Dot Day in art and gym with Mrs. Penwell and Mrs. Rizzo! In gym, students became dots on the Convo floor. Then, the dots started moving and joined together to create a line. In art, students put their creativity to work and created their own dot masterpieces.
Dot Day is inspired by The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. In the story, a young girl named Vashti believes she cannot draw. Her teacher encourages her to simply “make a mark and see where it takes you.” That one little dot helps Vashti discover her creativity and, most importantly, believe in herself.
We love seeing our Flyers make their mark and discover where their creativity can take them!
