Norwalk Catholic / St. Paul High School is excited to welcome back Mr. Doughty as an Intervention Specialist!
As a 2009 St. Paul graduate, Mr. Doughty’s connection to Norwalk Catholic runs deep. He first taught at Norwalk Catholic in 2020 as a sixth grade math and religion teacher before spending the past five years as a fifth grade Inclusion Intervention Specialist at Norwalk City Schools. He continued to be active at Norwalk Catholic by coaching wrestling and football in various capacities and currently is the head Varsity Football Coach. He is excited for his daughter, Emma, to start her educational journey at Norwalk Catholic in the pre4 program this fall.
For Mr. Doughty, helping students succeed is a lot like solving a puzzle. He enjoys identifying each student’s unique area of need and finding different ways to help them understand the material and continue moving forward on their educational journey.
Outside of the classroom, Mr. Doughty enjoys spending time with his family, coaching football, attending sporting events, and cheering on his students. And one fun fact: despite now being a head football coach, he didn’t play football until eighth grade! Interests can change and evolve over time for everyone. He encourages students to try things that are difficult and challenge them, because that is how growth happens.
We’re so glad to have you back in the classroom, Mr. Doughty! Welcome home!
