The 4th grade had a blast building and testing balloon-powered cars! As they raced their creations across the floor, they were busy thinking like real scientists. The students discussed how stored (potential) energy in the balloon turns into motion (kinetic energy), and how Newton’s Third Law of Motion comes to life: the air pushes backward, and the car moves forward! There was so much learning, teamwork, and excitement packed into one activity.
