Self-Control
Last week’s Faithful Flyer was nominated for Self-Control. A few weeks into the school year, I began to notice a change in this student’s initiative. He now comes to school ready to learn each day, eagerly participating and sharing ideas during class discussions. He has also started taking it upon himself to encourage others to make good choices.
Recently, while walking into school after recess, he heard a friend talk back to a teacher who was giving directions. Instead of ignoring it or going along with his friend, he quietly reminded him not to talk back to the teacher. He didn’t do it to be right or to impress anyone, he did it because he knew it was the right thing to do.
