Fourth Graders Learn About St. John Neumann on His Feast Day

Recently, Deacon Mike and Diane Wasiniak visited the fourth grade to share the story of St. John Neumann in honor of his feast day on January 5th. They taught the students about St. John Neumann’s time at St. Alphonsus Parish in the 1840s, a parish that continues to maintain a special connection to him today

The students learned about St. John Neumann’s early life in Bohemia, his call to the priesthood, his journey to America, and his work as a priest and bishop in Ohio and Pennsylvania, which ultimately led to his sainthood. The children especially enjoyed hearing stories about his time at St. Alphonsus, viewing historical artifacts, and learning about the construction of the St. John Neumann Prayer Center at the parish.

The visit was extra special as the Wasiniaks are the grandparents of fourth grader Talon Burger.
