Mission Trip Day Two Brings First Communion Retreat to Life in Belize

On day 2 of our mission trip the team led a First Communion retreat for students from St. Oscar Romero Roman Catholic School. We were blessed to host the retreat at the local, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Retreat Center. The team led the students through 5 different stations. They practiced receiving the Eucharist, made a decade rosary keychain, learned about the joyful mysteries of the rosary, created a class monstrance out of their handprints, and completed a First Communion activity booklet. Both the team and the SORRC students enjoyed playing games, learning, and praying together. Our team was able to connect with a few Flyers back home during the retreat to further strengthen the connection between our communities. The retreat concluded with one of the students leading the group in praying the Our Father in Spanish. Our team was energized by the experience and we are looking forward to leading a Confirmation retreat later this week.

Thank you to the GeoTrac foundation, Norwalk Kiwanis, the Fr. Tony Borgia family and the students on this trip who all gave generously to make this mission a reality.
