Mr. Gwinn Weekly Video Update 10.22.2025 Mr. Gwinn Weekly Video Update 10.22.2025 Show Transcript all right St Paul families I know last week I didn't do a video I don't think a lot of you were saying maybe some of you were sad I'm not totally sure but I'll say last week I had some allergy problems you know moving to Ohio I've had some allergies they've been you know a little strong is what it is and I sounded horrible yesterday like last week so I just kind of feel like I didn't want to you know inflict you uh with my grossness so I'm back I'm feeling better I'm feeling good actually I'm feeling really good so I'm going to get through everything relatively quickly and then uh go from there so it's get a we got quite a few things going on um it's it's a really really fun week right it's it's senior week we got the Monroeville game they got volleyball playoffs going on it's an exciting time here at St Paul we have cross-country going to I'm going to say it wrong they did districts last week and so they did really well districts last weekend so the girls team got second they have 2 boys going to Regionals I hope I'm saying that right sorry um yeah they're going to Regionals this falling weekend so we got cross country doing awesome we have volleyball doing great we have been available game on Friday um you know golf had a great fall um I'm missing somebody and I feel bad about that the band's fantastic the point is we have a lot a lot of things happening uh so many so many positive things to celebrate so I'm excited about that I'm excited about being here and it's going to be a really good week it's going to be a really really really really fun week so I've knocked out 2 of the things on the list already so you're going to send we have to we'll have the playoffs last night or I'm sorry not last night Monday night we have playoffs tonight um which is our exciting of course I have no doubt they'll do well Monroe game Friday I know you guys know that I don't need to tell any of y'all Monroeville is this Friday very excited about my first experience at a Monroeville and uh St Paul it was going to be a blast it's going to be a blessed so um so all of you out there I don't I think I feel like I'm I've been told I should say this make good choices all right no matter what happens make good choices um we'll figure it out so Austin found we have a lot of things in our lost and found and some of you have some of your children's uh nice apparel and lost and found and I'm pretty sure you don't want it to be there so check out with your student ask your student if they've checked it uh we'd love for them to check it because if they don't check it soon we're going to just donate what's in there so I have them check it grade cards grade cards going to go out on Friday uh so you'll have your grade cards on Friday if you have any questions let me know um 7th and 8th grade parents all right so I'm a Junior High parents something to remember grades are feedback okay that's what they are they're feedback um they're not permanent in seventh and eighth grade which is nice they're not going their permanent high school transcripts so it's a good learning Grant good learning learning opportunities so just remember that all right so if there's something that you don't love this is a this is a process we want them to get better and better at improve each week uh but top to us call me if you have issues or you have you know you know frustrations about what's happening with your students performance or what's happening with their grades or whatever it might be please reach out I've had a couple parents this week call me we've had very positive conversations I feel like we have uh figured out some of the issue some of the things that are getting in the way to help that kid be the most successful version of themselves and so yeah just call me and we will figure that out I feel very confident about that high school baseball High School baseball if you're if your son wants to join High School baseball have him go by the athletic office this week so go by Mr lava Good's office this week he needs to do that this week all right so the reason I do these videos and the reason I show you this list is because I know some of you your students don't communicate with you and I understand that and listen we're all busy so it's just I feel like my job to make sure I'm communicating with you in telling you what you need to hear all right so baseball this week parent teacher conferences are not until November 13th if you want to schedule a time with a teacher please reach out to miss Baca and she will schedule that for you uh college visits next week we have Ohio Northern coming to visit our campus next week and then 1 Thing I really want to hit on this week something that I really want to focus on is the fact that father collie is now doing uh confession in our Chapel twice a week every week so Monday mornings nope sorry Monday middle of the day some 11151 then Friday morning from 7:35 to 7:55 so again we have Mondays we have Fridays but I just want to ask you to really encourage your student your child to come and participate in confession here when they feel like they need to obviously I'm never going to push confession to anybody that's the opposite of what it should be but someone who's it was a convert who's been who's you know become a Catholic recently um confessions is everything because when you grow up in the Protestant Church you really don't have a mechanism like confession um it's it's sometimes really difficult to feel like you can move forward to some of the things that are happening remember the same thing some of the things you've done in your life and as high school students in junior high students I really want to empower them to instead of sitting in to to set of you know spiral through some of the things they might have done or things they feel like they're that are bad parts of them um instead go to confession and get that out you know kind of you know get your soul washed clean is is some people say and just enjoy the learn learn to enjoy the process learn to uh use confession and participate in confession as a way to refresh yourself to to build a move forward in the process your spiritual journey so I just would love for you to consider um really you know encouraging your students to take advantage again it's Monday in the middle of the day and Friday mornings so hey I did pretty good 5 minutes it's a pretty sweet time I am so thankful for everything everything you guys have done done for us for my family for the school I've loved being here and just let me know if you need anything from me please stop by I'm going to keep
