Global Service in Action: Help Fill the Container for Belize

Norwalk Catholic is pleased to partner with the Word at Work as part of our global service learning here at the school. This week, we are collecting new and gently used toys, stuffed animals, and sports equipment. Thank you for helping us fill a shipping container that will be delivered to the Valley of Peace, Belize. Please drop off your donations on Friday, October 3rd.

hello flyer family I'm Martin Linder president of Norwalk Catholic St Paul high school I'm here with some good friends of mine Scott and Katie Howell who have been helping us expand our global Service Learning mission in bise so this past February uh they helped us go down to St Oscar Romero Roman Catholic school where we have created a partnership as such we are working on expanding our support for the region of The Valley Of Peace and the country of police through a collection of items for a shipping container that they're going to give us more information on I started 1 didn't know how to go about doing it so luckily Scott and I joined our church First Presbyterian Church and they were doing annual trips to bise and so we jumped on board and um have been going ever since it's been a dream of mine to do a shipping container you've seen a lot of different Ministries in bise and there's a lot of need there so Katie asked me here at some point we were uh in a church meeting and asked if I would like to go on Mission with her and I prayed on it and thought about it with our family um and I thought you know this is a dream for my wife and I to go out and do something for the community but also for an Outreach and to another country we really got bit by the bug when we got down there and saw how many people were in need we've been on a lot of trips down that way and the needs are just keep on growing in we're just really looking forward to building the items into the Container we've already uh fundraising we've got a tractor that's going in the container lots of books and bibles we also have hospital beds coming medical equipment um like you said books Bibles clothing and that's where we're needing your help um so anything from sports equipment to clothing to toys anything like that that um you know we're we're wanting to fill this container with the shipping container is supposed to be um here in Norwalk at our warehouse around November 4th we're not sure on the exact date yet but we are organizing everything as it's being collected and then itemizing it palletizing it and then we will be ready to load the shipping container on November 4th and we've been working with the house to help collect through our school and we have more information about what's being collected when uh in our Wednesday newsletters and for your Elementary EC children I believe they have also received flyers on this information so thank you to you guys to help supporting our school and our global Service Learning um we're also so having a group of students go down to bise in January and you are joining us Katie as well to continue that Outreach so thank you and let's let the Holy Spirit work through
