Mr. Gwinn Weekly Video Update 9.17.2025 Mr. Gwinn Weekly Video Update 9.17.2025 Show Transcript hey happy Wednesday St Paul families you know it's been pretty great that we do this in the middle of the week it's a little little bit a little weird for me just getting used to it but uh I think this is a great opportunity to make sure we check in with each other uh know what's going on last week I was out of town hence why I didn't have the video and just kind of the short message so uh this week I'm back alright I'm back uh it's been a great week so far granted it's only you know it's only Wednesday but it's been really really good week I just want to go through a few things for you to highlight what's looking ahead and even even even a couple weeks ahead just to make sure uh that everyone's on the same page listen I know you know we'd all love if our teenagers I guess I don't have any yes but the teenagers were really communicative and told us everything uh and so I know listen I know a lot of information gets sent out to you I know that the app has a lot of information on it um I'm just trying to add a little more uh maybe some depth or just you know Personal Touch with these videos so I hope you watch them if you don't that's totally okay it doesn't hurt my feelings at all um someone told me that hey I just like I like to listen to them it's kind of nice little audio to get a to get an update which is great too I love that that's fantastic so however you want to do it let me know again if you play these videos and you hear that I'm talking really quickly you can just change the speed at the bottom uh down to 1x and that will explain why I sound like uh I've had 80 cups of coffee so let's get through it there's a TLC bake sale this week so this week only again there's only a couple more days left but in the mornings they're doing a bake sale to support TLC and I believe the senior class I believe I think might have that wrong but great little bake sale so send someone with your with your students like send some cash along with your students hey I don't know Park and walk over well cook and grab a nice little treat on a Friday morning and head on to work whatever you want to do but there's a bake sale in the mornings at the entrance of the high school we have a senior parents financial aid college night coming in not coming on the 17th I can't talk today on the 17th in the learning Commons all right so this is a financial aid like informational night on the 17th for seniors and the parents all right teddy bear toss so we have 2 seniors who are doing this uh for children's The Children's Clinic the Cleveland Clinic uh children's hospital so uh a little teddy bear toss it'll be on the 18th at the volleyball game again you'll buy um a bag for 3 dollars and then your student or your students can buy it back for 3 dollars and be a part of this it's a great little opportunity uh great fundraiser and I love that they're doing it I I also sidebar I just I really find it amazing that our seniors have all these projects that they do uh not every school does it that way and so I I appreciate the fact that we're asking our seniors to be not just leaders but to find ways to to serve and to uh maybe build awareness for something whatever it that they want to do I just I think it's a a great great thing that we do here at St Paul um we have our DC parent meeting on the 24th at 6 PM Mr Fair's room so if your students are in eighth grade and you are looking to go to go into DC trip or you want information about the DC trip um he's made it clear that so everyone at least 1 person for every family needs to be in attendance it's required so this is your good old-fashioned eighth grade DC trip uh love these trips they are a blast they're great opportunity for our students to learn about our history but also learn some things about our Catholic faith too in the in our nation's capital so that is the meeting the meeting is on the 24th which is you know not this week but next week 6 PM Mr Fair's room we have some college visits coming up I thought you might want to know this as parents uh again your students may or may not tell you uh but John Carroll and BGSU are going to be have have Representatives here next week on the 22nd and the 25th again talking to students answering questions those types of things um you know I'm I'm very aware of what our students need and what they what we what we need to do better as a building or whatever it might be and I'm thinking through that a lot I'm working through that process of you know how do we serve you better as parents how do we serve our students better and not that it's been poor at all that's not what I'm saying I'm saying has been great I want to I just personally I just keep thinking of how do I make this process um more valuable to you how do you how do we help you you know navigate whatever whatever it might be so if you ever have any sort of feedback from me of what you all need as parents for these for the you know the college application process for figuring out where to go to school to figure out but let me what best fits your child or whatever whatever the conversation might be I want to be a part of that we want to be a part of that very much uh we are here you know to serve viewing to serve your child and the the closer we are in our relationships the more information we share with each other parents administrator parent to teachers the more effective we are serving your child too so um I I really take a lot of pride in how I see this process and I have some ideas of what I'd like to add but for right now I just want to hear from you all so any feedback you have I would love to have that those of you who already have already talked to me those of you who've had to uh come in and have a meeting with me I hope what you've seen is someone who is here for you and I'm all ears and I I really am I'm here to do uh the work and he would take care of you and the teachers and the students so let me know let me know what I can do a yearbook sale I believe there's they are $6 I think that's I think you have that number right $6 you know please encourage your student to get a yearbook every year I think every year I've been education doesn't get 1 and then they regret it you know a couple months later like I should have bought a yearbook so just encourage them to do that and last but not least we have home volleyball we have home cross country and we have home football all this week last week our CrossCountry cross country team did a great job uh we had a great week for volleyball great week for football for homecoming right homecoming was an absolute blast I had a great time in the parade had a great time at the game I know my kids had an awesome time they had uh way too much candy so I know they had a great time I know they really enjoyed it so homecoming was was fantastic I loved it thank you for you know thank you for having me a part of it thank you for bringing me in uh I know it's hard for someone like me you know a new person Outsider coming in uh and so I feel you know we my family feels loved I'm going to keep telling you this we feel loved we feel like we're part of what's Happening Here so thank you I know that's not I know it's not always easy so thank you very much that's it I'm at almost right at 6 minutes that's not bad uh like always if you need anything from us let us know if you ever want to talk to me or reach out to me let me know I'm here to help I'm here to serve and with that I hope you have a great week thank you Published September 17, 2025 Print
