Mr. Gwinn Weekly Update 8.27.2025

oh happy Wednesday St Paul families I am excited to be here with you today yes so I'm going to recording videos every week the goal is to make sure that I'm communicating well with you that you see my face right you hear from me you hear from the school um of course newsletters are very very helpful communication is very helpful in text and anything else but I found in my previous schools when I've done these videos uh people just seem to feel more connected to what's going on and I think it's a beneficial thing I've I like doing them and I think it's a nice medium a nice way for y'all to hear from me and and and hear what's happening at St Paul so again what I do with these mostly is I give updates for the for the coming upcoming week so again these are going to go from Wednesday to Wednesday so I'll be updating you from again events that happen from Wednesday to Wednesday that's the idea behind these The rosters give you insight into the building you know how I'm feeling how your students are feeling maybe the staff whatever it might be so again I've done these in the past over the previous schools and I've received a lot of positive feedback and I the the the feeling I have mostly is just it's a great way for me to communicate with you I don't edit them as you can tell I just I just messed up I just wanted to be real with you and be transparent of of who I am as a leader and who we are here at St Paul so um yeah so let's get right into it it's been a great first week there's no doubt about that you have amazing amazing amazing kids amazing students um I'm so impressed with them uh the way they come into my office and ask me questions the way they approach conversations I'm just been incredibly incredibly impressed with your kids I love being here I love working with high school students if you don't know for the past 5 years I've been in elementary school and and for me coming back to high school is a huge blessing I was a high school teacher I was raised by a high school teacher and so I love being in high school buildings I love I love The Passion of the students I love the intensity academically I love all of it so I'm very blessed to be here Paul with you so let's get to my list we'll knock on a few things and I'll I'll end up with just a couple of thoughts so uh first thing is tomorrow and Thursday we have volleyball at South Central it's going to be junior high and high school so please go out to that please support our girls picture day is this Friday all right I don't know if your students told you or not if your kids told you pitch your day is this Friday so if you need to hear a cut the last minute haircuts last minute whatever uh picture days this Friday uh also on Friday we're going to be playing at Edison so the guys the football team will be at Edison on Friday so go out there and support the boys uh golf we got a lot of golf going on there's a lot of golf I love it um there'll be the boys are playing Plymouth today on Wednesday and then on Saturday they'll they will be at Belleview so again Wednesday they'll be playing Plymouth again that's today and then next week the playing at Belleview uh girls I think today I believe is Port Clinton and then on Thursday I hope I say this right as margareta margreta I think it's Margaret on Thursday and then they'll be playing at Belleview next Tuesday I'm sorry versus Belleview next Tuesday don't forget Labor Day right we got Labor Day no school whoop whoop if you're going to go on the lake safe make choices all those good things okay so if you're going to the lake be safe have a great time though enjoy that day off and then volleyball we're going to be playing tiffen next Tuesday here at home again come out and support those girls uh it's going to be a great time I have no doubt about that for those of you who came out to my parent meeting on Tuesday night I guess those last night technically um thank you so much I know it's a little Annoying that I asked you to come I know I said it's mandatory the biggest reason for that is because I wanted to see y'all I wanted to meet you I wanted you to meet me again I'm not from here right I'm not from this community I'm not from Ohio I've never been to St Paul until I got the job and so for me I just I wanted to make sure we all knew each other we all knew who I was and you can always come ask me questions I'm very open I'm very transparent I'm not the kind of person um who says you can't talk to me or have to make these business hours if you want to talk to me I'm here for you I'm I'm here for your kids I'm here for you so I feel very strongly that the more we work together the better we work together the more effectively we can serve your serve your students serve your kids and help them become the best human beings possible which is the goal of Catholic schools right uh is to help your help your young people help your students help your kids become the absolute best human beings those who love Christ those who are smart work hard do everything that possibly can are successful in the industry whatever it might be that is our goal right and the more we talk the more we understand each other the more we help each other the more that we can help your kids so again I love being here just the other day my wife asked me she said you look you know you look like you're really you actually are really happy I said I am I'm incredibly happy I'm incredibly blessed again I love being here my kids love being here my wife loves being here uh we will be here for a very long time so with that I'll Sora I'm under 5 minutes that's pretty good for me so these videos will be just weekly videos give a little updates and in time I'll add a little bit more to them oh 1 couple things sorry I forgot this week model un and mock trial are meeting for basically um just discovering me meetings if if your student wants to be a part of that I think it's a great idea those are both Matt Fair's room Mr Fair's room during lunch uh the other thing if you have a Junior High student all the the academic team the academic challenge team they're going to meet with Miss haneline at 7:40 a.m. on Friday um so if you have a Junior High student that do you think it should be a part of that please encourage them to do that I think that would be fantastic for them I would love that for them and I will end every video with saying this last thing and that is I would love for you to be at Mass with our students it's 1:30 every Wednesday and I you're probably thinking Nathan I have work I can't I can't come to mass every week I'm not asking you to come to mass every week in fact my my ask is very specific come to mass once a semester with your kids just 1 time a semester if every parent came to mass 1 time a semester we'd have 20 15 25 parents at every single mass and I would love that and they would love that that would be a beautiful blessing we are a Catholic school Mass is a is a vital part of what we we do and I would love to see y'all there more and more and more every week it's just this Moment In Time 1 hour a week that you can come to campus be with your student especially if you got kids who are seniors and they're about to go off into the world go to mass maybe ask them to sit with you hold on to them hug them hold their hand while you go through Mass it's a beautiful thing that we get to do with our kids it's a beautiful amazing blessing it's an amazing opportunity so please consider coming to match just once a semester once a semester would be huge
