The educational experiences continued as the group participated in a cooking class, where they learned to prepare plantains and other traditional Costa Rican dishes. From there, they traveled to Guanacaste, where they got up close to Rincon de la Vieja, an active volcano, and witnessed volcanic activity firsthand. The trip culminated with a morning boat tour to observe crocodiles in their natural habitat, followed by an afternoon snorkeling session, where students swam among small tropical fish and vibrant coral reefs. The adventure ended with a cultural dance session, allowing students to engage with Costa Rican traditions.
This trip provided more than just thrilling outdoor adventures—it gave students a chance to connect with the tropical environments and wildlife that are often only seen in zoos in Ohio. Above all, the students made unforgettable memories and developed a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
